Lord of the Strings Concerts Presents John Knowles

One of only a few guitar players to be awarded the prestigious “Certified Guitar Player” designation from Chet Atkins.
 

John Knowles, CGP, has worked with Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Lenny Breau and Tommy Emmanuel. John’s arrangement of The Entertainer earned a Grammy for Chet in 1974. Guitarists around the world learn from John’s publications including John Knowles’ FingerStyle Quarterly. In 1996, Chet Atkins awarded John an honorary CGP (Certified Guitar Player) for his work as a guitarist and teacher. John has been inducted twice into the National Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame. He earned his PhD in physics from Texas Christian University in 1968.
